When you get an high level of Uric acid accumulating in your joints you are likely to develop Gout. Specifically this accumulation of uric acid change to crystals, and the crystals act to impede and restrict movement in your connective tissue. When you reach this stage it becomes difficult to move fingers and toes.

The crystals form quickly, sometimes in a matter of a few hours, and they can grow fast. The growth will lead to an inflammation of the skin around the infected area, and the first symptoms most people notice with gout are swelling and redness of the skin, alongside the restricted movement. The crystals can enlarge to the point they cannot be contained by the skin and ooze through it's surface.

So, what causes this build up of Uric acid? Basically Uric acid is a purine, which is a substance that occurs naturally in our bodies and in a lot of our food. They are not a part of our diet that is vital. Purines are a type of nucleic acid and occur in certain foods as a nitrogenous compound. In over 50% of cases where peoples diet is high in purines an elevated risk of gout is expected.

Some people are born with an abnormally high level or Purines in their system, and this is most likely passed on from their mother. However in most cases gout can be attributed directly to a high purine diet. As the Purine levels that are consumed in food increases, so does the chances of developing gout. There may be some genetic predisposition to developing gout but it is more likely associated directly with natural genetic immunity levels.

It should be clear then that avoiding gout is a rather simple matter of avoiding the food groups which are most often associated with high purine levels. This avoid the uric acid build up in the joints and in doing so avoids gout. It is possible to completely avoid recurring cases of gout by taking control of the diet and removing all purine rich foods and replacing them with foods that will not increase the natural purine levels in the system.

It's also a very good idea to be aware of your acid/alkaline balance levels. Uric acid is one type of acid that when unbalanced can cause complications such as gout, there are many others that come with their own complications. So it's important to understand how alkaline balances out the acids within our system and what role each has.

Carb Addicts Diet

Posted by Martin | 6:04 AM

In the modern world where people go out to offices for long hours, and increasing amount of competition and rising stress of work, the intake of junk foods have become tenfold! And these so called junk foods are basically made up of Carbohydrates that make the human body fat prone and over weight! This is the real devil…Carbohydrate! And this food habit is called Carb Addictions. But for every devil there is a God, so for all these junk foods, something also exists…The Carb Addicts Diet!

The basic idea in the Carb Addicts Diet is to control the heavy intake of carbohydrate and addiction towards it, resulting in an effective weigh loss and subsequent weight control. The process may seem a bit weird, but hey all great things look weird in the beginning! So did Genesis…and Carb Addicts Diet. Looking down to the Carb Addicts Diet plan, it has to be discussed meal wise, which is as a person proceeds in the day along with his meals.

Starting at breakfast the Carb Addicts Diet suggests complete abstinence of carbs, and this is also observed in case of lunch too! The meals comprise only some proteins and starch less carbs. The dinner, at last, would consist of some proteins, some starch less vegetables and some carbs …however all three in equal proportions only. None of them in excess of another, then the Carb Addicts Diet would not do any help.

However many expert people believe that the Carb Addicts Diet is not at all a good one for weight loss plan. This why many health or dietary organizations do not recommend the Carb Addicts Diet, also the diet is also not a suitable one to be followed in a long term basis. Cutting the carbs is not a great idea in a long-term process, as the body would not receive all the nutrients it need in that manner.

Yet, the users of Carb Addicts Diet have accepted the effectiveness of the diet plan, but there are no written proofs to support this! But the Carb Addicts Diet continue to make its way in a sublime manner into the hearts of the city dwellers and someday would get its true respect.

Negative Calorie Diet

Posted by Martin | 6:04 AM

This is a hard diet plan to plan and accomplish. Even if you want to, it has to be thought about and this can take a bit of time to set up a negative calorie diet plan. A negative diet plan is one that provides less food calories than what you need to digest them. If you find this first part confusing, then this diet is going to be frustrating. This is one big disadvantage to the negative calorie diet plan. Some foods allowable in this plan are broccoli, apples, beets, asparagus and cauliflower to name a few. These are not any negative foods, because there is know such thing as a negative calorie food. But there are foods outlined in the negative diet plan. The diet itself is not a realistic diet because these foods are healthy and do not help you lose weight.

Basic calories do not burn calories. The only way to burn calories is to exercise and take in the recommended daily calories needed. So with this in mind, you can choose this plan if you feel this will be a positive diet plan for you or whether it will be a negative one. You will find out that the way to burns calories is to exercise, not eat foods that add calories instead of burning them.

You don’t want to be fooled into thinking you are burning calories by eating such foods when in turn these foods are adding calories to your diet. This will add weight gain if you do not participate in an exercise routine. There is no such evidence of a negative food to burn bad calories. It is a myth that cannot be substantiated by anyone. This will cause concern when you are considering a negative calorie diet plan.

Fruits and vegetables do contain calories, but they are considered healthy calories verses junk foods that produce negative calories. So if you get rid of the bad calories and just eat the good calorie foods, you will stay healthy. Losing weight will need to include exercise and proper eating habits.

So is the negative calorie diet plan a reality, I don’t believe so. I have found no information to back up a positive result. The information provided has not proved that there is such a diet like this that contributes to weight loss. Be leery of plans that say you can lose weight by eating negative calorie foods, as this has not been proven.

With this said, you may be wondering what types of Negative Calorie Diet foods I am referring to.
Below you will find such a list:

Blood Test Diet

Posted by Martin | 6:03 AM

The blood test diet is considered to be totally unproven by facts. There has been no guaranty that a blood test can tell what foods you should or should not eat unless it is for high cholesterol or other health related issues. But this test is not saying they are checking for this. The blood test diet states that they can tell you what foods your body can tolerate and not tolerate. Then you are supplied with a list of foods you can eat to lose weight. The theory behind this test is that eating low carbohydrates can help you lose weight.

So you are encouraged to eat foods that can be digested easily. The factors considered when planning your diet plan are weight, height, age and your sex. They also need to consider genetics as part of developing a weight loss plan for you.

The blood test diet is only geared towards one or two days for one time monthly. This is a very hard diet plan to understand. I see absolutely no possible gains from this type of diet plan. I believe there are other healthy diets that are less expensive and can provide weight reduction without so much confusion and controversy.

Grapefruit Diet

Posted by Martin | 6:03 AM

There was a study done on this type of diet plan and proved that people who eat a grapefruit or drink the juice can lose about three to five pounds in two to three months. This is not a lot of weight loss, if you need to lose a substantial amount of weight. It could cause discouragement because you are not seeing any significant weight loss. The grapefruit diet allows for about 1200 calories a day with a grapefruit juice or a grapefruit at each meal. But there are no research results for or against this type of dieting. It can be unhealthy because you are not getting the recommended daily calorie intake. There are not any side effects to this diet plan which is probably the only real positive thing about the grapefruit diet plan.

There has been a huge amount of controversy about the grapefruit diet due to the fact that nothing has ever been proven that grapefruit as any special weight loss effect. It is more of a way to may you a little fuller before your regular meal and cuts down on your food intake and reduces calorie intake. Also grapefruit is a good fruit for anyone to eat.

In order to lose weight with this type of diet plan, you need to be exercising in order to lose weight, but you will be risking your health if you exercise and do not have an adequate calorie intake. The grapefruit diet plan has not had many positive things said about the plan. There seems to be more myths than anything with this diet.

Also, mentioned as being related to the grapefruit diet is the grapefruit capsule which has absolutely no value at all. You cannot get a fresh grapefruit in a pill. This makes it totally useless to spend money on a grapefruit pill when it is not doing anything at all for you. If you consider this diet plan, you will need to know and keep in mind that you are not going to lose any amount of weight that will make a difference in your appearance.

There are probably other diet plans that use the grapefruit diet plan in association with another form of dieting plan also. Will this work or not, will be entirely up to the individual. There is to much negative publicity about the grapefruit diet since it was first introduced some eighty years ago.

Low Calorie Diet

Posted by Martin | 6:02 AM

hese diets are not for everyone. If you have a large amount of weight to lose this can be a very good diet for you. It can be used as a short term diet plan and should be done under a doctor’s care if your weight is a major health concern. Very low calorie diet plans call for a very low intake of calories. This may consist of a special formulated replacement substitute, rather than food. There may be some side effects such as tiredness, headaches and diarrhea when first starting this type of diet plan until your body gets accustom to the change in feeding habits. Once you acquire weight loss, which could take up to fourteen or more weeks, you can wean yourself to a chewable food. This has to be slow, as not to upset your body, which has been on a very low calorie diet.

There can be one health risk that requires monitoring by a doctor and that could be gallbladder problems. Doctors will perform blood work ups and monitor your health condition through out a very low calorie diet. It is not recommended for anyone to take on this type of diet plan without supervision.

The very low calorie diet plan has been accredited for weight loss and improving blood pressure and cholesterol. There are also many health reasons not to use this type of diet which can be ulcers, liver problems and cancer to name a few of the health concerns. The very low calorie diet is said to be safe and has positive results, but you still need some form of exercise, even if it is moderate.

The diet works by in “layman terms”, by making the body think it is starving, this slows your metabolism and the body breaks down protein in order for your body to get the needed carbohydrates. The weight you lose in this type of diet is about half fat and half lean tissue. This is the reason to be under a doctor’s care in order to monitor bone mass and lean tissue against fat loss.

Once you return to a low calorie diet plan after a very low calorie diet plan, you need to count calories and only take in the calories that you will be able to burn off. The downfall to a very low calorie diet plan is you are susceptible to weight gain if you don’t watch what you eat after the diet has ended.

The 8 minutes in the morning plan allows for you to just do some simple exercises in the morning before starting the day. It reports that you can lose two pounds a week if you follow the routine and only take in the right amount of calories needed per day. The plan doesn’t allow for what they call emotional eating, which could mean eating when you’re upset or just feeling bored and need something to eat. This program allows you to take Sundays off and just do some small routines during the other six days.

It has you working different parts of your body on different days. This is done to build lean muscle. It isn’t stressing anything about eating and what to eat which is important when doing such a routine. You need the proper foods and amounts in order to build lean muscles. This program adheres to healthy choices and not the calories. There are professionals that will disagree with this type of plan due to a lack of having enough calories to build lean muscle. Without the proper calorie intake you will have a much harder time producing enough energy needed to work your muscles and achieve lean muscle. There are many gyms and personal trainers that say that you need more calories for different types of workouts.

This program does supply you with a book in order to get started eating healthy and exercising different areas of your body. If you feel comfortable with the 8 minutes in the morning plan, then this will be the plan for you. Keeping in mind that calorie intake is important to any workout routine. Checking out the routines described in this book with other workout plans could be one way to find out if they are right for you. I don’t feel this plan is adequate for everyone due to the fact that everyone is different.

Individual plans that are tailored to your needs can be much more beneficial to your overall diet plan. You will need to explore all the different options available and then choose the plan that will be right for you. You may not be a person who can get out of bed and a little while later, start an exercise routine. If you are, that is great, but if you are not, you will have a hard time staying dedicated to this particular plan.

7 Day Diet

Posted by Martin | 6:01 AM

The 7 day diet is a little bit different. On the first day of your diet plan you will be told to eat as much fruit as want. But it doesn’t allow you to eat bananas. When you come to day two, the plan has you eating all the vegetables you want except peas and corn. Now this also includes a baked potato and butter. Now with the third day, it has you eating all the vegetables and fruits except for the potato and no bananas. With the fourth day you should drink skim milk about eight glasses and are suppose to now eat eight bananas. When you get to day five you need to have twelve ounces of beef and six tomatoes with sixty-four ounces of water. On day six you can eat all the beef and vegetables you want, but still you can’t eat a potato. The last day you will eat all the vegetables you want and all the brown rice you want. Drink fruit juices that are unsweetened. There is also a soup you can eat all week long that has onion, celery, peepers, tomatoes and cabbage in it.

Now there are many variations to the 7 day diet, but the foods are similar with different portion sizes. I am not sure exactly how this diet can help you lose weight. I see this as a shock to your metabolism and digestive track. There really isn’t any special weight loss prediction for this plan, leaving one to believe it may not be an ideal weight loss program.

This 7 day diet is low in calories and could be bad for your health as well as not providing any structured weight loss benefits. This is definitely a weight loss plan that has many flaws which leads you to say no to this type of eating plan. This program also allows you to drink a diet soda, which will supply caffeine to an under nourished body due to a lack of calorie intake. This makes a very unhealthy statement and could be asking for health problems relating to this type of consumption.

It is not the healthiest diet and you should think twice before trying the 7 day diet. The result from a more suitable diet program is going to be of more value to you and your total outlook. Always remember to find a diet that is not only healthy, but one you can stay with the entire time.

3 Day Diet

Posted by Martin | 9:41 AM

Now this diet plan must have been developed by an ice cream lover. Now I am all for ice cream, but this diet insists that you eat one cup of ice cream at dinner time, and one half cup the other two days. It does tell you to use a specific brand. The main thing the 3 day diet says is you will lose up to forty pounds in a month if you follow the menu for three days and then resume eating the way you did before. This doesn’t sound like a diet that is capable of contributing to weight loss. The menu on the first day starts with breakfast then on to lunch and then dinner. Now this diet says you have to eat exactly what it says. This won’t be a problem if you like cantaloupe, beets, tuna, broccoli, eggs, crackers, cheese bananas, apples, toast and coffee. You have to drink plenty of water during the day also.

This 3 day diet plan says you will lose ten pounds in three days if you follow this for three days before resuming a normal eating habit. Then after four days, go back to the 3 day diet program again for another ten pound weight loss. Repeat this for one month and it says you will lose up to forty pounds.

I don’t think you’ll find yourself starving with this plan, but a streak or hamburger will be out of the question for three days. When you go back to a normal eating routine, you should not over indulge yourself. Now this plan doesn’t say anything about exercise but you may need to tone your body a little after losing that amount of weight.

There is as much negativity to this diet as well as positive comments. To think that a diet of this type could account for ten pounds of weight loss a week, by dieting three days and normal eating for four days is a little hard to believe. On the other hand if the foods are healthy enough to speed up your metabolism, it may just be possible to achieve success.

Because everyone is different, it may work for some people and it may not work for others. The decision can only be made if you decide to try the 3 day diet plan and see result s or not. The choice whether you can accomplish this or not will come from you.
